Spawn

After posting my last post...well I'll leave it as it is. However, it has made me think more to what religion looks at "Evil" itself.

I've been reading this comic series, called "Spawn". Genius comic series, it shows a different aspect to the ideas of religion itself. Over the summer, I went and bought the Armageddon series of this comic book, basically it was the best of the entire series itself. It answers the simple yet complicated questions, however true they may or may not be, it does a good job in talking about religion.

The first question it asks is "What created god?" The question that has probably been asked a thousand times a thousand, times over. If there is this "Ultimate being" around, how did he get to be the "Ultimate being"? The way this comic represents it is that there is a level BEYOND god himself, with no name, no gender, no aspect. Mother. It is called "Mother" the being who gave life to incredible life forms such as god and the devil himself. This then goes against the idea that Lucifer fell from heaven, but it says that they are siblings at war. I find this to be... partially true in it's own way. If there is an idea such as "Mother" the creator of all, then that would give god a place in life.

The next question asked is about the "Rapture". The Rapture *for those who don't really know that much about it* is an belief that Jesus will come to Earth and take people to heaven when the time is right, simple and nothing else descriptive. However here's a question, what is Armageddon? Is it a war between heaven and hell? If so, what are the forces used between the two? Is the rapture simple a draft to join heaven? It's so fictional it can be true! We have no definite evidence of what the rapture will be, what Armageddon will be like, we don't even know if the four horsemen are beings on horses. The man who said everything was alone in a cave, possibly on some kind of drug, which can tell us things that may not be true. As for my opinion, I stand on my side of being Agnostic, and I still wonder that something is out there, but it's not under organized religion.

Existence precedes essence.

First we exist and come into consciousness (without a choice mind you; forced and bound into the chains of freedom and existence). After our realization of our being; we start to form concepts (essence).

In this sense, first we existed; and then we formed a concept of god. First we existed and then we formed a concept of Justice. There is no true essence of justice. There is no true essence of god. They are concepts we created. We have attempted to find Justice, and Find God all throughout human history, and have created many a courageous and clever attempt; yet... we still don't have any answers really. Well, maybe there aren't any answers? Maybe the answers are only what we decide are the answers. We create the question and we create the answer. There is no right or wrong question or right or wrong answer. You get to choose.
